Why Count Calories?

Your body needs a specific amount of energy (calories) every day just to function and sustain your daily activities. This is called your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). If you consume exactly this amount of calories, your weight will remain the same.

The Golden Rule of Weight Management: To lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than your body burns (Caloric Deficit). To gain weight or build muscle, you need to eat more calories than you burn (Caloric Surplus). Our calculator uses the highly accurate Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate your exact needs.
