How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home?

Knowing your ring size is essential for online jewelry shopping. To measure at home, wrap a piece of string or a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger you want to measure. Mark the point where the ends meet and measure the length against a ruler in millimeters. This value is your Inside Circumference.

Standard Sizing Explained

Ring sizes are determined by either the inside diameter or circumference of the ring. US and Canada use a numerical scale (0 to 16), while the UK and Australia use an alphabetical scale (A to Z). European sizes are typically based on the circumference in millimeters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am between two sizes?
If your measurement falls between two sizes, it is always recommended to size up. Your fingers can swell due to heat, exercise, or salt intake, so a slightly larger ring will be more comfortable.
When is the best time to measure?
The best time to measure your finger is in the evening when your fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers can be up to half a size smaller in cold temperatures.
