What is a Quadratic Equation?
In algebra, a quadratic equation is any equation that can be rearranged in standard form as ax² + bx + c = 0, where x represents an unknown, and a, b, and c represent known numbers, where a is not equal to 0.
The Quadratic Formula is: x = [-b ± √(b² – 4ac)] / 2a. The part of the formula under the square root (b² – 4ac) is called the Discriminant, and it tells you the nature of the roots (whether they are real, repeated, or complex/imaginary).
